What We Do
Molenbeek is a Government Special Needs School in Maitland, Cape Town for children with barriers to learning.
For 2 years a project was funded to deliver a physical literacy program once a week to 90 children.
Assessments were completed each term and great progress was seen to all the children’s physical development abilities.
Perpetua House is a School for teenagers with delayed learning capacities such as Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Perpetua House is in Monte Vista, Cape Town and is run as an NPO.
For 2 years a project was funded to engage with the teenagers to encourage being more active. All of the participants showed much improved enthusiasm for the activities and their abilities improved greatly.
Witkoppen is a Primary School located in the middle of Fourways primarily catering to children from Diepsloot. Whilst the school has space, they do not have resources or trained teachers to offer physical education. A 2 year project was funded to deliver weekly physical education classes to 100 Grade R children. Assessments were tracked termly and children not achieving developmental milestones were identified and assisted.
