Who We Are
Physical Literacy for Children (PLC) is a South African registered Non-Profit Company in which teaches physical literacy skills to underprivileged and special needs children.
We run specific, age-appropriate, non-competitive classes to help children reach their gross motor developmental milestones while having fun, developing their brain capacity, improving concentration and boosting their overall confidence and self-esteem.
We currently train 150 children in Cape Town in collaboration with The Kids Gym, which is our biggest donor, sponsoring 125 of the 150 children.
To bridge the physical education gap in South Africa.

How We Got Started
It all started with the love of a father for a daughter with special needs. He utilised his own skills to teach her to reach her full potential, using physical literacy as a means to improve his daughter’s mobility. His insights with his own little girl translated into a business. In turn, this business grew into an NPO that gives back to children like this one small child and now many others can benefit from what father and daughter learned together.
Where We Are Now
We now share Glen and Emily’s experience to serve the communities in which The Kids Gym operates, teaching what we know and what we have learned through their journey to many more children with special needs.
We see the difference the physical literacy programme makes to the lives of these children. We see them light up, ignited and motivated by their new found passion for activity and action, and when they achieve movement milestones that boost their self-esteem.
Children are transformed. South Africa can be transformed.
