Who We Are
Physical Literacy for Children (PL4C) is a South African registered NGO which creates physical literacy opportunities for under-resourced and special needs schools.
We provide, age-appropriate, non-competitive programs to assist children to achieve their gross motor developmental milestones. Whilst having fun this also develops brain health, improves concentration and boosts confidence and self-esteem.

How we got started…
It all started with the love of a father for a daughter with special needs. He utilised his own skills to teach her to reach her full potential, using physical literacy as a means to improve his daughter’s mobility. His insights with his own little girl translated into a business. In turn, this business grew into an NPO that gives back to children like this one small child and now many others can benefit from what father and daughter learned together.
Where we are today…
We see the difference the physical literacy programme makes to the lives of these children. We see them light up, ignited and motivated by their new found passion for activity and action, and when they achieve movement milestones that boost their self-esteem.
Children are transformed. South Africa can be transformed.
